Venice's Jewish life is centred on the Ghetto in the Cannaregio district, where the Comunità Ebraica di Venezia has its offices and five historic synagogues (scole) stand. The community holds Shabbat and festival prayers in the Scola Spagnola in summer and the Scola Levantina in winter; access to the synagogue and to kiddush must be booked ahead, sending an identity document for every member of the family. The community's kosher list names Ba'Ghetto Venezia, a meat restaurant in the Campo del Ghetto Nuovo that serves Shabbat meals, and the Volpe bakery. Chabad of Venice has a synagogue with daily prayers on the Ghetto square, and its Hotels & Kosher Food page lists the GAM GAM kosher restaurant at the Ghetto's entrance by the Guglie bridge. The community's mikveh is used by appointment through the community office. Guided tours of the synagogues start from the Jewish Museum's ticket office in the Campo di Ghetto Nuovo; private visits can be booked on any day except Saturday.
